SG Iron is also known as Ductile Cast Iron, Nodular cast Iron, Spheroidal Graphite and Spherulitic Cast Iron. This type of iron suggests that these grades of Cast Iron have a degree of ductility.

There are various types of cast iron that are produced using different hat treatment and processing techniques , these include gray iron , white iron , malleable iron , ductile iron and compacted graphite iron.
