Manufacturers of Structural Steel
Mild steel is a category of steel used in the manufacture of building materials in a variety of forms. Many forms of structural steel are in the form of an elongated beam with a specific cross-sectional profile.
The Three types of steel.
Carbon Steels
Apart from carbon and iron, carbon steels only contain trace elements. This group is the most popular of the four types of steel and accounts for 90% of steel production.
Alloy Steels
Alloy steels are created via way of means of including extra alloying factors like nickel, copper, chromium, and/or aluminum. Incorporating those factors complements the steel's strength, ductility, corrosion resistance, and machinability.
Stainless Steels
These steels have remarkably high corrosion resistance and are safe to use in exterior construction as they are better able to withstand harsher weather conditions. They are also commonly used in electrical equipment.
While various grades of stainless steel such as 304 stainless steel have a place in construction, most industries use stainless steel for its sanitary properties. These steels are common in medical equipment, tubing, cutting tools, and food processing equipment.
